This cinnamon roll smoothie is like having a traditional cinnamon roll in the form of a delicious smoothie that is decadent and super creamy without all the guilt.

I find that mornings are the hardest for breakfast, especially when it’s busy. I always try to have breakfast because it keeps me energetic until midday, but sometimes it’s really hard to plan ahead for breakfast and not just walk out the door with a cup of coffee or tea.

This is why I love a smoothie for breakfast.

  • Quick to make What I love most about smoothies is that they take only 5 minutes to make and barely any cleanup.
  • Protein This recipe is packed with protein, which will help you feel fuller throughout the morning because of the oats and Greek yogurt.
  • Grab and go All you need to do in the morning is put everything in your blender and quickly blend, and your breakfast is ready to go with you.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Rolled Oats I like to use old-fashioned oats and blend them a bit but I used quick oats for this recipe because that’s quicker.
  • Plain Greek Yogurt I like to use plain yogurt but you can use vanilla or coconut
  • Brown Sugar You can omit the sugar if you want or substitute it with an alternative like coconut sugar or maple syrup.
  • Almond Milk Any milk will work; I like to use regular milk, oat milk, or almond milk.
  • Cinnamon The cinnamon gives you that cinnamon bun flavor you’re looking for.
  • Vanilla A dash of pure vanilla helps bring out the sweet flavor.
  • Banana you can omit banana, but it does add sweetness and creaminess.

Variations and Add in’s

  • Protein powder Use your favorite vanilla or almond protein powder for an extra protein boost.
  • Healthy fats Add in some pecans or walnuts, some chia seeds or flax seeds, or a spoonful of nut butter.
  • Vegan Make it vegan by omitting Greek yogurt and using a plant-based yogurt alternative.

How to make this cinnamon roll smoothie

  • Combine Place oats, yogurt, brown sugar, almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and a banana in your blender. I do find that adding the milk and yogurt first helps the smoothie blend a little easier.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Adjust Give the smoothie a quick taste and make any adjustments you feel like making, such as adding more cinnamon or sweetener. Depending on how much banana you add, you might need to add a little bit of milk to adjust the consistency.
